racticing Art Therapy and Counseling in the Woodland Program, an NYFS and 
Centennial School District program supporting the emotional and educational needs of students.

As an art therapist I believe the client’s I work with benefit from both the art making process as well 
as developing a cognitive understanding of themselves through the image making experience.  
Specializing with “At-Risk” youth I relish the challenges and incredible strength these individuals present.  
Utilizing a relational approach I individualize Art Therapy techniques and interventions to meet the 
particular needs of the youth / groups I work with in a school setting. 

Having practiced since 1991, I have developed a range of techniques and am experienced with 
an array of media.  I am occasionally able to offer internship opportunities and supervision.

Knitting therapeutic dolls for her clients has led Jorie to make these dolls also available to the public.  The dolls, Pixikins, are infused with therapeutic oils and offer sensory stimulation as well as assists clients in tolerating/focusing during group or individual therapy.  Inquiries regarding purchase of Pixikins may be directed to Jorie at: beadgrl51@msn.com
